Roles and permissions
Each staff account gets exactly what its role needs: viewing pay, exporting students and changing fees are separate permissions.

- Every connection to Schooliee is encrypted with HTTPS, and browsers are told to always use it.
- Staff and owner passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as plain text.
- Sign-in, sign-up and other sensitive requests are rate limited to slow down guessing.
- School data lives in a managed cloud database, not on one office computer.
- Parents only see their own children, and only for modules the school has turned on.
Good habits
Software controls only go so far. These habits, all supported in Schooliee, close most of the gaps schools leave open.
- Give every staff member their own login, never a shared one.
- Give each role only the permissions it needs, and limit teachers to their own sections.
- Remove access, or sign out everywhere, the day someone leaves.
- Use a long, unique password for the owner account.
- Look through the activity log once a week for changes you don’t recognise.
- Use “hide amounts” when you work with fee figures where others can see the screen.
Security questions
Who owns our school’s data?
Your school does. Schooliee does not sell personal information. See the privacy policy for the full terms.
Can we export our data?
Yes. Lists and reports can be exported from each module, so your records are never locked in.
How do parents sign in?
Parents sign in to the parent portal with the CNIC registered with the school, and sign-in attempts are rate limited.
Does Schooliee have two-factor sign-in?
Not yet. Staff and owners sign in with email and password. We recommend a strong, unique password for every account and removing access as soon as someone leaves.
