What Is 1Bill?

1Bill is a bill payment network in Pakistan, run by 1Link. It lets customers pay bills through supported banking and mobile wallet apps.

Through Schooliee SmartPay, a school can offer 1Bill payments for its fee challans.

How It Works

1. The school generates a fee challan in Schooliee. Each challan is linked to a 1Bill consumer number, which can be set per student or per family.
2. The parent opens a supported app, such as Easypaisa, JazzCash, or a banking app that supports 1Bill. They choose 1Bill and enter the consumer number.
3. The parent pays the full challan amount.
4. The payment network sends a confirmation to Schooliee. Schooliee then marks the challan as paid and records the payment in the ledger.

Step 4 depends on the payment network sending the confirmation. If that confirmation is delayed, the challan status will update later.

Rules to Know

• Full amount only: An online payment must match the full challan amount. Partial payments need to be handled another way, such as at the counter.
• Late fees: Late fees can be set as a percentage or a fixed amount, and can be applied per student.
• Reminders: Fee reminders can be sent to families who have paid part of a challan.
• Counter payments: Cash paid at the office is recorded in Schooliee, and a PDF receipt can be sent to the parent's WhatsApp. Cash and online payments are both recorded in the same ledger.
